(S) The Management Committee for the Special Tribunal for
Lebanon (STL) has authorized STL Registrar Robin Vincent to
sign leases for four apartments in The Hague that will
accommodate the Lebanese judges of the STL once they are
relocated from Lebanon to the Netherlands. A working group
of the Management Committee selected the apartments based on
seven recommendations provided by the Dutch authorities.
Once the leases are signed, the Dutch authorities will
install security upgrades on the apartment, which should take
three months. The judges are expected to convene in the fall
to review the draft rules of procedure and evidence, after
which they will be relocated from Lebanon.
