Dear Mr. Ambassador,
I have the honor to refer to the letter dated 15 March 2004
(copy attached) from the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of
Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts addressed to the
Permanent Representative of the United States to the United
Nations regarding closure of the Trust Fund for the Police
Assistance Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I am pleased to inform you that as indicated in the annex to
the present letter your Government's remaining share in the
balance of the Trust Fund for Police Assistance Programme in
Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 8 September 2008 amounted to
US$268,851. This increase of your Government's share in the
trust fund balance is attributable to the additional interest
income accrued in the fund.
In this connection I should be grateful if your Government
could provide instructions regarding the disposition of the
balance of its contribution to this Trust Fund, including its
transfer to other United Nations peacekeeping-related trust
funds.
Should your Government decide to request the return of the
balance of its contribution, we respectfully request that
instructions for payment by electronic transfer be provided
by having the attached form completed, signed by an
authorized official, with the Permanent Mission's seal
affixed, and sent to Mr. Jayantilal Karia, Director, Accounts
Division, Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts.
Once again, I take this opportunity to thank the United State
Government for its valuable support to the United Nations
peacekeeping activities.
I remain, dear Mr. Ambassador,
Yours sincerely,
/s/
Jun Yamazaki
Assistant Secretary-General, Controller

4. Action Requested: Mission requests that instructions be
provided as to the disposition of remaining balance as noted
