1. (SBU) Econoff met with Ministry of Defense officials on
March 19 to determine definitively the end user for the F4
fighter jet wing parts listed in Ref A. Air Defense LtCol.
Katsuhiro Nishi explained the Air Defense inventory records
are maintained by part number, not by aircraft. Subsequently
finding F4 parts in the records is impossible. However, he
believes the original part numbers submitted in Ref A may
have been inaccurate creating difficulties in locating the
parts.
2. (SBU) Nishi confirmed receipt of 3 Trailing Edge P/N
32G31132-6004 (not 6005). If DTCC can confirm these are the
parts we originally intended to locate, then this case can be
closed. Nishi also confirmed receipt of 50 Fitting P/N
53-41511-3. If this is the part we intended to locate, but
is listed in Ref A as P/N 32-24011-5, then this case can be
closed.
