(C) Embassy Tokyo delivered text of UNSCR 1835 and reftel
non-paper to MOFA Second Middle East Division Principal
Deputy Director Motosada Matano on October 3. Matano stated
that Japan appreciates the passage of UNSCR 1835 as it shows
the unity of the international community with regard to
Iran's nuclear program. He said Japan hopes Iran will take
the passage of UNSCR 1835 seriously and move to comply with
the requirements of the existing Security Council resolutions
concerning its nuclear program, and that Japan will continue
to urge it to do so.
