1. (C) Japan will designate two officials to participate in
the election observation mission (EOM) in Mongolia, according
to MOFA Mongolian Desk Officer Sayaka Minamikawa. MOFA
currently plans to choose the two officials from within the
Embassy Of Japan in Ulaanbaataar (Candidates listed in
paragraph 4). Japan is still considering whether to send a
MOFA official from Tokyo.
2. (U) Embassy Tokyo Point of Contact regarding APDP matters
is Scott Hansen, hansensw@state.gov, 81-3-3224-5559.
3. (C) Japan has identified the following candidates for
participation in the EOM:
Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Counselor
Takahiro Ishizaki, First Secretary
Toshio Yatomi, Second Secretary
Sayuri Muraki, Third Secretary
