(C) Post delivered demarche (ref) urging Japan to ban imports 
of third country products that contain Burmese-origin gems or 
hardwood. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Asian and Oceanian 
Affairs Bureau Principal Deputy Director Atsushi Kuwabara had 
no immediate reply but stated the GOJ fully agrees with the 
United States on the need for progress in Burma.
