(SBU) Econoff delivered reftel demarche May 30 to Eline Attema, Senior Policy Advisor for Market Access and International Aviation, Civil Aviation Directorate, Ministry of Transport. Attema subsequently informed Econoff on June 9 that her Ministry has taken the U.S. points on board and better understands the benefits of a "split assessment." However, she cautioned that the Ministry has not reached a final decision on the issue and it is now up to all ABIS members to express their views on the split assessment. (Note: the ABIS Group represents the civil aviation authorities of Austria, Benelux, Ireland, Switzerland, and Portugal. End note.)
