COMPENSATION FOR NUCLEAR DAMAGE DELIVERED

Per reftel request, Poloff delivered talking points and
non-paper to Nestan Bejanishvili, Third Secretary of the
Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bejanishvili said that she
was not aware of the Convention on Supplementary Compensation
for Nuclear Damage or whether the Georgian government planned
to ratify the Convention. She said Georgia currently does
not generate electricity from nuclear power, but may do so in
the future. She said she would review the information
outlined in the non-paper and pass it along to her superiors
in the department for evaluation.
