1. (SBU) On May 30 MFA Americas' Desk Chief Ismat Fayzulaev
told us that although the decision was not final, the MFA now
expects the Uzbek delegation to the June 16-18 TIFA meetings
in Dushanbe will be headed by Nasriddin Nadzhimov, First
Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Foreign Economic
Relations, Investment, and Trade (MFERIT). According to
Fayzulaev, Ganiev is unable to attend the TIFA meetings due
to a shedule conflict.
2. (SBU) We forwarded the draft TIFA schedule (reftel) to
both Fayzulaev at the MFA and to Akmal Azimov, head of the
Americas' Desk at MFERIT. Both promised to study the
schedule and said they would inform us of any comments.
