CENTER-SPONSORED LEADERSHIP TRAINING
1. (U) This is an action request. Please see paragraph 2.
2. (U) Post requests that Department conduct a human rights
review and Leahy vetting for four Government of Uzbekistan
officials scheduled to attend a Marshall Center-sponsored
event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany May 12-August 9.
The officials will attend the Marshall Center's Leaders-level
Program in Advanced Security Studies. Post understands that
Leahy vetting is required by the Marshall Center for all
program participants. Post has no credible information of
gross violations of human rights by any of the listed
participants. Department's response is requested no later
than close of business May 8.
