¶1. (C) On April 14, Poloff delivered reftel demarche to
Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). On April 15,
MFA U.S. Desk Chief Ismat Fayzullaev requested that Poloff
provide a separate list of the Iranian proliferators that he
could circulate to relevant Government of Uzbekistan
agencies. He assured Poloff that Uzbekistan would deny entry
to the relevant individuals in accordance with United Nations
Security Council Resolutions, and encouraged the United
States to notify Uzbekistan if there are any indications of
the designated individuals seeking to transit Uzbekistan's
territory. Fayzullaev said that he would provide further
information regarding the status of Uzbekistan's regulations
and implementation of the provisions after receipt of the
list of designated individuals.
