On February 5, Poloff briefed and provided materials to Ismat
Faizullayev, MFA's Chief of Section for U.S. Affairs, per
reftel. Faizullayev thanked Poloff and said that he would
share this information with the relevant Government of
Uzbekistan entities. He said that Uzbekistan would freeze
any financial assets of these individuals if it was able to
do so, and would inform Post of any such actions that it
takes. Finally, he noted that Uzbekistan and the United
States have shared interests in counterterrorism.
