1. (SBU) On October 31, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign
Affairs informed Post via diplomatic note that the following
individuals are the Government of Uzbekistan's points of
contact for activities related to the Global Initiative to
Combat Nuclear Terrorism: H. Halilov, Branch Chief at
"Sanoatkontechnazorat" (State Inspection for Nuclear
Control),telephone: 244-13-17, email: davatom@ars.uz; and O.
Abdiev, First Secretary of the Department for the United
Nations and International Organizations at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, telephone: 233-57-48, email:
abdiev o@post.tiv.uz.
2. (SBU) As of November 4, the Government of Uzbekistan has
not responded to our request for confirmation that the GOU
has established an account on the Global Initiative
Information Portal.
