UNAUTHORIZED RETRANSFER OF BELL 212 HELICOPTERS

(C) On September 3, Political Counselor and Deputy Economic
Counselor delivered reftel points regarding possible
unauthorized retransfer of Bell 212 helicopters to Jan-Erik
Lovgren, Deputy Director General, the Swedish Inspectorate of
Strategic Products (ISP). Lovgren commented that he saw the
helicopters in question at Stockholm Arlanda International
Airport as recently as 2006-2007 and confirmed that there are
four Bell 212 helicopters, not three as had been previously
reported. He thanked post for providing reftel points and
stated that ISP would investigate this issue. Post will
report ISP findings septel.
