"The tone between Russia and Georgia has in no way softened. On the contrary, for each day that passes, it is becoming increasingly clear that Moscow does not mind a confrontational course with Georgia, the U.S., and the West in general. We can now see a Russia that more and more is looking after its own interests.... "The new, or perhaps the blend of new and old Russia, which is now emerging, is a challenge to the world. And the EU seems to be on its way to unite in some kind of common stance, and in the U.S. one is beginning to discuss how the next President should handle Russia." WOOD
