SUBJECT: STOCKHOLM REQUESTS TWO INTERNS FOR SPRING 2009

Per reftel, Post is requesting 2 interns for Spring 2009,
as noted below:
A) Number of interns requested: 2;
B) Language requirements: Swedish preferred but not required for
POL/ECON and CON interns;
C) Other special post criteria: POL/ECON should be majoring in
international relations, international business or a
related field; there are no special criteria for the CON intern;
D) Sections to be assigned: one intern shared between POL and ECON;
one intern CON;
E) Intern Coordinator: Thru August 15, Briana Olsen, Acting
Political Counselor; tel. (46)-8- 783-5322; email:
olsenbl@state.gov; after August 15: Lynn Stapleton, POL OMS, tel.

F) Summary of typical duties: --POL/ECON intern would assist in
research and analysis of political and economic issues. Both of
these interns would participate in drafting of cables and policy
memorandums.
They would also attend meetings with relevant counterparts
from host government and would assist with arrangements for official
USG visitors.
--CON intern would assist with special projects related to American
Citizen Services, including the Warden System, and
data entry.
G) Post provided housing for interns is limited during fall and
spring 2008/2009 season. Post does not have any vacant housing
projected. Post personnel are being asked for possible space in
their homes for interns.
Post will assist in providing contact names for referrals outside the
embassy. Hotels are also available but prices vary depending on
availability and season.
All concerns should be sent to Lynn Stapleton.
H) There are no visa requirements for American citizens residing in
Sweden for less than three months.
