SUBJECT: IRAQI PM MALIKI'S BILATERAL PROGRAM IN SWEDEN
(SBU) Ambassador to Sweden, Ahmad Barmani, told DCM the Iraqi
delegation's bilateral program in Sweden. It will take place
on Friday, May 30, after the ICI conference.

-- PM Maliki meets with Mona Sahlin, Party Leader of the
opposition Social Democrats.
-- 1700: Iraqi Embassy hosts reception for Swedish
officials, and diplomatic community.
-- 1900: Maliki meets with Iraqi community in Sweden.
(Note: Barmani said the Swedish-Iraqi community of
120-150,000 represents the full spectrum of Iraqi ethnic
groups and political parties, including the PUK, KDP, Islamic
Party, the Shiite parties who have their own husseiniyyat,
the Chaldeans, the Assyrians, and even the Sabeans. Barmani
meets with two representatives from each group monthly at the
Iraqi Community Council. He said Iraqi migration to Sweden
reached 18,559 in 2007, but is expected to decline to less
than 10,000 in 2008. End note.)
