1. (C) On March 5, poloff delivered reftel demarche to Peter
Springfeldt, Director of the China Desk of the Asia and
Pacific Division of the MFA. Springfeldt said the Government
of Sweden wants Taiwan's status within the OECD to remain
unchanged. He added that Sweden's policy towards Taiwan is
conducted through the EU, which also is unlikely to change
its current position towards Taiwan participation in the
OECD.
2. (C) Prime Minister Reinfeldt will officially visit China
in April, accompanied by the Ministers for Trade and
Environment and 20-30 business representatives. Their
meetings will focus on climate change, renewable energy
technology, and human rights.
