1. This is an Action Request. See paragraphs 2-4.


2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls
Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests post's assistance in conducting
a pre-license check on application 050112368 for the export
of tube amplifiers and related technical data to South Korea.
Post is requested to complete this Blue Lantern check within
30 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern check will
affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this
license.


3. Reason for request: confirm the bona fides of the Agency
for Defense Development, proposed end-user and foreign
consignee.


4. ACTION: Embassy is requested to make inquiries with
appropriate officials to establish the bona fides of the
Agency for Defense Development in the proposed transaction
and determine the order and intended end-use of the USML
items to be exported under license 050112386 (POC Jonghee
Lee, Ph.D, Colonel, ADD, tel. (042)822-4271).

PURPOSE:

The Communications and Power Industries' Traveling Wave Tube
Amplifiers will be used in conjunction with the Rohde &
Schwarz (R&S) Reverberation Test System for commercial
aircraft component tests as well as measurments according to
MIL-STD461E method RS103 "alternative test procedures -
reverberation chamber (mode tuned)" for military aircraft
components.

signed by Jonghee Lee, Ph.D, Colonel, ADD, the head of the
Department of Aerospace Test & Evaluation, on June 20, 2008.

head of the Department of Aerospace Test & Evaluation, on
June 22, 2008.
