CONSULTATIONS DATE AND DELEGATION LEAD FOR 2008
SUMMARY

¶1. (U) Department requests Embassy engage the Brazilian
Ministry of External Relations about conducting the next
round of political-military bilateral consultations.
OBJECTIVES
--------------
¶2. (SBU) Department instructs Embassy to pursue the
following objectives with the Government of Brazil:
-- Propose a date of April 18 for political-military
consultations in Brasilia.
-- Note that the U.S. delegation will be led by Acting
Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs,
Ambassador Stephen Mull. Post may wish to note that the 2006
round of political-military consultations were led at the DAS
level.
REPORTING DEADLINE

¶3. (U) Embassy should report results of efforts by cable to
PM/RSAT Jeff Burnett by Monday, January 28.
