(S/NF) On April 24, 2002, the Al Rashid Trust was added to the UN 1267 Committee's list of individuals and entities associated with Usama bin Laden, al Qaida or the Taliban. According to multiple sources available to the U.S. Government, as of mid- 2007, Al Rashid Trust was operating under the name Al Amin Welfare Trust and the other AKAs listed below. On August 17, 2005, the Al-Akhtar Trust International was added to the UN 1267 Committee's list of individuals and entities associated with Usama bin Laden, al Qaida or the Taliban. According to multiple sources available to the U.S. Government, as of July 2007, Al-Akhtar Trust International was using the alternate name of the Pakistan Relief Foundation and the other AKAs listed below. -------------- ACTION REQUEST ¶3. (U) USUN is instructed to submit on June 23 to the al-Qaida/Taliban Sanctions Committee the following AKAs for two names previously listed under UNSCR 1267: Names of proposed AKAs: 1) Name: Al Rashid Trust AKA: Al Amin Welfare Trust AKA: Al Amin Trust AKA: Al Ameen Trust AKA: Al-Ameen Trust AKA: Al Madina Trust AKA: Al-Madina Trust 2) Name: Al-Akhtar Trust International AKA: Pakistan Relief Foundation AKA: Pakistani Relief Foundation AKA: Azmat-e-Pakistan Trust AKA: Azmat Pakistan Trust ¶4. (U) USUN is further instructed to share the attached Statement of Case (SOC) with 1267 Members and request their support for this update. As of May 2007, Pakistan Relief Foundation had taken over all assets of Al-Akhtar Trust, and Al-Akhtar Trust's senior leaders had begun working on behalf of Pakistan Relief Foundation.
