Congratulations to you and the USUN team for your efforts to
ensure that the UNSC agreed to Georgia's requests for special
sessions on April 23 and May 30 to respond to Russian actions
in the separatist region of Abkhazia, Georgia. I would like
to single out the work of Ambassador Wolff, Jeff DeLaurentis,
Kirk McBride, and Drew Schufletowski for their excellent work
on the issue. Your team showed diplomatic mastery when they
-- twice in two months -- secured agreement from the Russian
Mission for the UNSC to hold two special sessions at
Georgia's request. This achievement was amplified by
defeating efforts to allow Abkhaz participation in the
meetings. This was a real victory for Georgia and USUN.
Please accept my heartiest thanks for a job well done.
