This is an Action Request. See paragraphs 2 - 4. ¶2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests Post's assistance in conducting a post-shipment check on licenses 050062674 and 050095703 for the export of pistols to Guatemala. Post is requested to complete this Blue Lantern check within 45 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern check will affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this license. ¶3. Reason for Request: Foreign end-user, STI Guatemala, was party to approved license 050062674 for the export of the pistols listed below. The company is also party to license number 050095703, which lists the same commodities as the previous license. The most recent license application claimed that the transaction outlined on the initial license (050062674) could not be completed before the license's expiration date, therefore necessitating a resubmission (050095703). This request is for post to establish the bona fides of end-user, STI Guatemala, and to verify that no shipment was made against license 050062674. ¶4. Action Request: Post is requested to establish the bona fides of end-user, STI Guatemala, as a legitimate recipient of the United States Munitions List (USML) items listed below. Post should also verify that no shipment was made against approved license 050062674 and that the defense articles listed below were exported only once, under license number 050095703. In its reply, Post may also comment on any other information pertinent to these transactions such as security of facilities and concerns about the entities involved. ¶5.
