See paragraphs 2-4. ¶2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests AIT Taipei's assistance in conducting a post shipment end use check on license 05-050033440 for the export of defense hardware to Taiwan. AIT Taipei is requested to complete this Blue Lantern within 45 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern inquiry will affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this license. ¶3. Reason for request: To verify the bona fides of the foreign intermediate consignee involved in this transaction and to ensure items listed on license are being used by the end user for the authorized purpose. ¶4. Action Request: Department requests that AIT Taipei make inquiries to verify the bona fides of foreign consignees Tyco Electronics Taiwan Taoyuan Holdings (Bermuda),Audix Technology Corporation, and Chancemost Enterprise Corporation in the transaction. Conduct site visits to assess the companies' reliability as recipients of United States Munitions List (USML) articles as well as their operations and on-site security. If site visits are not possible, please inform the PM/DTCC case officer. Also, confirm with the end-user that it ordered and received the listed items for the purpose stated on the license in accordance with the provisos. End Action Request. ¶5. EMC testing is important to IT technology, telecommunications, automotive, medical and appliance manufacturers. Audix Technology Corporation, using their anechoic chamber to shield off any ambient noise, can provide fast and accurate EMI data. It will provide EMC testing and certification on behalf of its customer, Inventec Appliances Corporation in Taiwan, which does not have the equipment or capability to perform this testing at their own facilities. Audix Technology will file the EMC certification on behalf of Inventec. Tyco Electronics does not offer an alternative non-USML part for this customer's requirements. ¶6.
