This is an Action Request. See paragraphs 2 - 4. ¶2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests Post's assistance in conducting a pre-license check on license 050129744 for the export of shotguns to Malaysia. Post is requested to complete this Blue Lantern check within 30 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern check will affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this license. ¶3. Reason for Request: Previous EXTRANCHECK conducted by Post in 2007 was unfavorable, as Post was unable to locate a legitimate office for foreign consignee DRii Watan Sdn Bhd (REFTEL). The current license application lists a different address than the one previously checked. This request is for Post to establish the bona fides of the company and determine if it is a trusted recipient of United State Munitions List items. ¶4. Action Request: Post is requested to establish the bona fides of foreign consignee DRii Watan Sdn Bhd by making appropriate inquires to representatives of the company. Post should also establish the bona fides of the transaction by making appropriate inquiries to representatives of the end-user, the Royal Malaysian Police Unit 69 Komando. In its reply, Post may also comment on any other information pertinent to these transactions such as security of facilities, end-use, and concerns about the entities involved. ¶5.
