This is an Action Request. See paragraphs 2-4. ¶2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests Embassy's assistance in conducting a post-shipment check on license 050107593 for the export of C-130 spare parts and engine components to Malaysia. Embassy is requested to complete this Blue Lantern check within 45 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern check will affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this license. ¶3. Reason for request: Doubts about whether Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) officials signed DSP-83 Nontransfer and Use Certificate. ¶4. ACTION: Embassy is requested to make inquiries with appropriate RMAF officials to determine if it ordered and received the C-130 spare parts listed below and that the articles are being used for the purpose stated on the license. Also, please verify that RMAF rep Mohamed Ali Abbas, whose signature is on the DSP-83 form dated March 26, 2008, is familiar with this order and signed the document in question (Department can fax or email to post upon request).
