(C) On March 6 we delivered reftel demarche to MFA
International Security Directorate desk officer Gergana
Velichkova and to Western Balkans Office Director Krasimir
Tulechki. Tulechki said he expected his government to
recognize Kosovo in a matter of "weeks, not months." The
government was considering extending recognition in tandem
with another EU member, either Hungary or Portugal. Tulechki
also expressed concern about Serb provocations in Mitrovica
and noted the importance of the EU continuing to reach out to
Serbia.
