¶1. (C) PolOff conveyed to MOFAT reftel talking points in
support of according the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) ECOSOC
consultative NGO status. The MOFAT Human Rights and Social
Affairs Division responded that the ROKG did not have enough
information about the HRF at this time to commit to
supporting consultative status. However, in light of the
apparent procedural problems with the rejection of the HRF's
June application for such status, it would likely agree to
refer the application back to the NGO Committee during the
ongoing ECOSOC session.
