Later that day, President Saca told the Ambassador that El Salvador had made the decision to recognize Kosovo and was hoping to make a joint announcement with other Central American countries within the next few days. (Note: Heads of state or other representatives from all Central American countries are expected to convene in San Salvador on February 20 for a regularly-scheduled Central America Integration System (SICA) summit. End note.) However, Saca said that if there was no joint statement, El Salvador could make an announcement on its own to recognize Kosovo at some point in the future. GLAZER
