Assistant Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid al-Akwa on January
11. Al-Akwa responded that he would look into the case and
that he hoped that the Ministry would provide a quick
response to the demarche. (Comment: As all Foreign Ministry
officials above al-Akwa's rank are either ill or traveling
outside of the country, his hopes for a quick response may be
overly optimistic. We will push for a response by week's
end. End Comment.)
