(C) The Reyda security director told the town's Jewish
community that he was sending plainclothes security officials
to protect their homes, community leader Yahya Yaish told
PolOff on December 30. Yaish was unable to verify that this
directive had been carried out, and said that the Jews had
not been personally visited by any security officials,
despite National Security Bureau (NSB) Deputy Director Ammar
Saleh's December 28 promise (reftel). Yaish also said that
there had been no further threats or violence against the
Jews as a result of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.
