(S) Econoff delivered reftel demarche concerning the 1267
listing of the Al-Shabaab organization to acting
counterterrorism officer Enrico Valvo at the MFA on June 16.
Valvo made no substantive comment on the demarche and said if
the GOI decides to co-sponsor the listing, the Italian
Mission in New York would contact USUN. Econoff also passed
the information to Christina Collura, Head of the Office of
the Prevention of Financial Crimes at the Ministry of
Finance.
