(S) Econoff delivered reftel demarche to MFA
Nonproliferation and Export Control Chief Roberto Liotto on
June 3. Liotto said the GOI took such cases seriously and
promised immediately to contact his counterparts at the
Ministry of Trade and at the Customs Authority to relay the
information passed in nonpaper. Liotto added that it might
be difficult to act on such short notice (the ship is
scheduled to arrive in Genoa on June 4),but promised to get
back to us with any additional information.
