(U) Econoff delivered points concerning Taiwan's OECD
participation to Ministry of Foreign Affairs OECD Desk
Officer Stefano Nicolletti on March 7. In a follow-up
conversation on March 18, Nicolleti said that he had relayed
the US position to the MFA regional desk and to Italy's OECD
Mission in Paris. Nicolleti said Italy was following the EU
common position supporting Taiwan's continued participation
at the OECD and added that the EU position was very close to
the US position in this matter.
