1. (C) In response to reftel demarche, MFA Counselor
Emanuele Farruggia, Director for Arms Control and Non
Proliferation, confirmed to PolOff that the GOI would not be
sending any official delegation to Iran's Nuclear Conference,
to be held in Tehran on the 30th of November. Farruggia was
not aware of any private Italian firm planning on
participating and noted he would attempt to dissuade any from
attending, should he become aware of their intent. MFA
Counselor for Nuclear Affairs Roberto Liotto also confirmed
to EconOff that the GOI would not be sending an official
delegation.
