Petersons, Serbia-Bosnia Desk Officer in the MFA's EU
Department, on August 4. After consulting within the MFA,
Petersons reported back on August 6 that the MFA notes our
concerns about the Karadzic family's possible support to
networks that aid other persons indicted of war crimes, and
would take that into consideration if any changes were
proposed to current EU travel restrictions against family
members. Petersons said that he knew of no efforts to
initiate changes to the family's restrictions, and that if
proposed, Latvia would look to the French Presidency to
provide grounds for changing the family's status.
