(C) On April 17, DCM delivered Ref B demarche to Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Director General for Bilateral Affairs
(P-equivalent) Youssef Amrani. DCM also drew upon Ref A to
stress that we need Morocco's help with the UAE and other
partners in the run-up to next week's meeting in Tokyo and to
the actual Forum. Amrani replied that he will be going to
Tokyo precisely because Morocco believes in the Forum for the
Future. As the host of the first Forum, Morocco was
disappointed that the planned Forum in Yemen never took
place. Amrani also assured DCM that he would vigorously
press the UAE to maintain the tradition of openness and
transparency.
