Mino and Director General of Multilateral Affairs Lourdes
Puma Puma on January 11. Ambassador Izquierdo said that they
were not closely following the situation regarding Kosovo and
that the GOE did not have a position on this yet. He added
that given the impending urgency, the MFA would give the
issue attention. Puma noted that Ecuador did not have
commercial relations with Kosovo, but that the GOE maintained
political ties with Serbia and has exchanged votes in the U.N.
2. (SBU) Post will follow up at a later date to clarify the
GOE's position.
