1. (C) Pol/Econ Counselor delivered ref a demarche on
September 18 to Czech MFA Security Policy Department Director
Veronika Kuchynova-Smigolova. Kuchynova-Smigolova said the
Czech Republic is considering transferring to NTM-I at least
some of its approximately 17 military personnel currently
deployed to Iraq as part of MNF-I. Per ref b, those
personnel will no longer be needed in 2009.
2. (C) On the NTM-I Trust fund, Kuchynova-Smigolova said the
Czech Republic would continue its present level of funding
through 2009, which she estimated at 20,000-30,000 euros
annually, through 2009.
