GROUP EXCEPTION FOR INDIA

Political-Military Officer presented the reftel demarche to
Mr. David Maseck in the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs'
Non-proliferation Department. He told pol-mil officer that
the Czechs have been supporting an exception for India since
2006. They would like India to sign the Comprehensive Test
Ban Treaty and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, but believe that
India will not do this anytime soon. MFA Political Director
Martin Povejsil made similar statements on this issue when
Codel Lynch visited Prague on July 29.
