(SBU) The MFA informed us July 16 that no decisions have yet been made on who will attend the UNGA. A discussion with the Prime Minister's Special Assistant returned a similar response, including that no decision on the PM's travel has yet been made. ¶2. (SBU) Comment: In 2007, the MFA only informed us of its delegation composition shortly before the UNGA's opening (ref b). While last year's local electoral calendar played a role in the slow response, we anticipate that the GOTT will once again only decide its delegation much closer to the event.
