1. (U) A Presidential decree dated August 24 that became
public August 26 formally named Michele Pierre-Louis (whose
full name is Michele Duvivier Pierre-Louis) Prime Minister.
A second decree from the Prime Minister of the same date
named the members of her cabinet. They are listed in para 3.
Bios of the ministers will follow septel.
2. (U) For this government to be confirmed in office, each
house of Parliament must give a vote of confidence in the
Prime Minister's declaration of the government's general
policy (reftel). That session in the Chamber of Deputies is
tentatively scheduled for August 28, with the vote in the
Senate to be held as soon as August 29.
