(U) The following Security Advisory was issued by the Peshawar (Capital City Police) Superintendent Of Police based on the recent increase in terrorist and criminal activity in Peshawar and the NWFP. This advisory was issued to the greater diplomatic community. The complete text is provided below: -------------- BEGIN MEMO -------------- From: The Capital City Police Officer, Peshawar To: All Concerned No. 2093-99 / PA; Dated 20/11/2008 Subject: SECURITY ADVISORY Memo: As of prevailing security situation in Peshawar and on going operations against militants in the surroundings, the measures listed below may be adopted in addition to your own arrangements. ¶1. Movements may be restricted to "UNAVOIDABLES" only. ¶2. Routines should be avoided in terms of timings. ¶3. Diplomatic registration/Number places should be avoided for the time being. ¶4. Routes, both to and from, may be changed frequently but security may not be compromised in this regard. ¶5. Staying at home once or twice a week on a working day/week day is recommended. ¶6. Marked vehicles should no be used to the extent possible. ¶7. Use of different vehicles is advisable where possible. ¶8. Vigilance and surveillance of surroundings both at work-places and accommodations may be ensured. ¶9. Exercise vigilance and alertness while in travel. ¶10.
