AMERICAS DRAFT DECLARATION OF COMMITMENT

1. (U) EconOff delivered demarche as per instructions in
Reftel to the Director of International Organizations Delia
Villamonte at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 20,
2008. Villamonte was aware of the Draft Declaration of
Commitment for the upcoming Summit of the Americas. She
noted her office was still gathering comments from the
various domestic agencies that are responsible for the
different issue areas in the draft document. Therefore, she
did not have any substantive comments at this time.
Furthermore, Villamonte said that the GOP plans to attend the
three Summit implementation review sessions for the draft
document.
