(C) On October 6, PolOff presented reftel demarches to Sylvain
Yameogo, Acting Director for International Organizations at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yameogo indicated that Burkina Faso
will maintain its earlier position in support of Kosovo and explained
that Burkina Faso will not support efforts to undermine that
country's independence. Furthermore, Yameogo said that instructions
will be given to the Burkina Faso permanent mission in New York not
to support the Serbian resolution to seek an advisory opinion from
the International Court of Justice.
