Mohler for reasons 1.4 (b) AND (d) (S) Econcouns delivered reftel points on May 7 that the USG intends to request the UN 1267 Sanctions Committee listing of the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS) to Yves Beaulieu, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade's Counter Terrorism Deputy Director. Econcouns also asked if Canada might co-sponsor the listing request. Beaulieu expressed appreciation for the RIHS identifiers and background materials, but had no immediate substantive comment. He promised to pass the materials to the appropriate Canadian officials for a formal response. Beaulieu also asked if the USG could inform Canada whether any other government might decide to co-sponsor the RIHS listing request.
