Econcouns delivered reftel information regarding the U.S.
designaiton of four Syria-based members of the Abu Ghadiyah
Network to Yves Beaulieu, Deputy Director (Counter-Terrorism)
for International Crime and Terrorism at the Department of
Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT). Beaulieu
expressed appreciation for the names and background, but
stated that DFAIT had already received the information
through an automatic notification from the Department of
Treasury website. He stated that the this notification
system helps Canada take immediate appropriate action
regarding designations.
