1. (SBU) Canada was pleased to support and co-sponsor the
First Committee resolution on compliance this year, according
to Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade
nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament senior policy
advisor Sarah Houghton. Houghton expressed appreciation for
U.S. efforts to include Canada's suggested language on
verification in the resolution. Houghton also expressed
thanks for the comprehensive briefing on U.S. efforts to
increase support for the compliance resolution. She added
that Canada would appreciate continued updates on U.S.
efforts to win increased support for the resolution.
