Per reftel, PolOff demarched MFA Desk Officer Nicos Panayi on
May 21 regarding the May 25 UN- ASEAN Pledging Conference in
Rangoon. Panayi noted that the GOC had not received an
invitation to the conference, but supported the idea of it.
The GOC said before participating in any way, it would
coordinate with its EU partners. As in previous demarches
regarding Burma, Panayi reiterated the GOC's concern for the
people on the ground.
