Per reftel, PolOff on May 9 demarched Nicos Panayi in the
MFA's Department of Multilateral Affairs regarding
humanitarian aid to Burma. Panayi revealed that Cyprus had
pledged 30,000 euro for humanitarian assistance. Cyprus also
believed it was important to urge the Burmese regime to grant
international community access to the affected areas of the
country, and was worried over the delay in issuance of the
visas to aid workers.
